Bikie given strict bail
A LONE Wolf bikie who allegedly brandished a butter knife at two women and tried to steal their phones only did so to get them to delete mobile phone footage, a court has been told.
Brodie Jeet Singh, 41, was granted bail under strict conditions after appearing in the Southport Magistrates Court yesterday facing two charges of armed robbery.
Singh appeared in court in handcuffs and a hospital smock after police prosecutor Sergeant Davina Cochrane successfully applied for Singh to remain restrained.
Singh’s barrister Marty Longhurst, instructed by Dib and Associates, opposed the application and said: “It’s not some Gulag prison, it’s Queensland.” Mr Longhurst said Singh had a bad reaction to a combination of shingles medication and alcohol about 2.30pm on Sunday.
The Terranora man then began brandishing the butter knife and was behaving so erratically two women began to film him, police alleged.
The court was told Singh demanded they delete footage and tried to take their phones.
Magistrate Pamela Dowse granted bail with a number of conditions including Singh report to police three times a week, he not drink alcohol and he submit to alcohol and drug tests as required.
