A list for the 12th of Never

-

SCOTT Morrison’s 12 energy projects that a continuing Coalition government would consider “underwriting” is about 40 per cent sensible, 60 per cent depressing and 100 per cent pointless.

At least, they are all real power generators – gas, hydro and one “very small” coal generation upgrade. That’s the 40 per cent good.

The 60 per cent depressing, though, is that the list only, for want of a better term, “makes sense” on the basis of backing up more and more useless fake generation – wind and solar.

And the most sensible, coal, is effectively ruled out.

The 100 per cent pointless comes from that word “continuing”.

The blunt truth is the Morrison government ain’t “continuing” anywhere past May. He could just as well have foreshadowed building a string of nuclear power stations, starting immediately after the 12th of Never.
