THE WORLD’S WILD FOR OUR BLOOMS

-

THERE will be plenty of colourful wildflowers at the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show.

Native wildflowers are one of the big trends being showcased by landscape designers, with several featuring them in gardens they have created at the Royal Exhibition Building, which is open until Sunday.

STEM Landscape Architecture & Design director Emmaline Bowman says social media has played a part in driving the interest in wildflowers, with plenty of international tourists posting floral snaps.

“More and more overseas people love our wildflowers,” Ms Bowman said. “I believe part of their popularity is due to their unique forms, found nowhere else.”

The show also has a stage where musicians will perform over the next four days.
