No jail for spit on police officer

- LEA EMERY

A WOMAN who spat in the face of a police office “should be ashamed” of her “outrageous behaviour”, a Judge has said.

Judge Julie Dick made the comments while sentencing Zanklina Stanisavljevic, 42, in the Southport District Court after she pleaded guilty to mul- tiple charges including serious assault on a police officer, wilful damage of police property and common assault.

“Your barrister said you are remorseful and ashamed of your behaviour and so you should be,” Judge Dick said.

Judge Dick sentenced Stanisavljevic to 12 months prison with immediate parole, 12 months probation and ordered she performed 50 hours community service.

The court was told police were called to a Gold Coast home in February last year after Stanisavljevic had left.

She returned later in her car and when police tried to arrest her, she kicked out and spat in the face on one of the officers.

The officer was required to undergo disease testing. A MAN who was allegedly arrested with more than 600g of meth, $25,000 in cash and drug debt sheets has claimed in court it was for his own use.

Luke John Norris, 37, was refused bail in Brisbane Supreme Court on Thursday.

On January 11, 2019, police raided Mr Norris’s Oxenford
