MARKET GASSED UP FOR STATIONS

A SOUTH Murwillumb­ah service station has sold for $5.8 million, signalling plenty of spark remains in the sector.

The Coles Express at 281 Tweed Valley Way, South Murwillumb­ah sold on a sub-6 per cent yield.

CBRE’s Darren Collins, who struck the deal with Sergio Demetriou and Joseph Du Rieu, said the transactio­ns highlighte­d a “strong start to the year” for the sector.

A NSW investor, who holds an ex- tensive service station portfolio, snapped up the Coles Express at Murwillumb­ah after an expression­s of interest campaign that attracted 75 inquiries and four offers. The sale realised a yield of 5.95 per cent.
