HAIRY MOMENT YET AGAIN FOR JASMINE
A BRAVE local shaved her head on Sunday at Coolangatta as part of the World’s Greatest Shave.
Jasmine Jones, 19, shaved off her long brown locks for the third time and is planning to donate all 75 centimetres of her hair to charity.
“This has been a personal journey for me; from the first time I decided to shave my hair with my twin sister, in 2011 after my uncle passed away from a brain tumour and my grandmother was recovering from breast cancer,” she said. “In 2014, I took part again, this time with ex-Titans player Luke O’Dwyer shaving my hair at the school we both attended and I donated my 40 centimetres of hair.
“He also had a family connection with his brother passing away from leukaemia.” Ms Jones decided to once again shave her head as cancer has struck “three special ladies” in her life recently.
“I want to thank my mother and friends and family who have all gotten behind the head shave and supported me to achieve my goal,” she said.
