NICOLE THRILLED TO PLAY PYJAMA ANGEL

-

WHEN local Nicole Bain began her volunteer journey more than three years ago, she never imagined the impact one child could have on her life.

The mother and paediatric nurse is a Pyjama Angel and volunteers with children in foster care to help change the direction of their lives.

Ms Bain always had a passion for children and after seeing an advertisement for the program she knew it was the perfect way for her to give back.

She visits a foster child once a week to give foster parents a well-deserved break.

“I work in a home with multiple children who each have a Pyjama Angel supporting them,” she said.

“The kids call it angel day. When we get there, they come flying out of the house saying, ‘the angels are here’.” Nicole said she loves being able to also offer support to the children’s foster parents. This work of Pyjama Angel’s costs the Foundation upwards of $500 to recruit, screen and train each volunteer.
