Wait for roadblocks now more M1 funding pledged

-

HERE we go again, the Federal Government offers up $500 million to fix more of the M1, (GCB, April 2) and the State Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey is going to hold it up yet again.

It is shades of the three-year delay we have just witnessed before they started fixing the motorway from Robina to Varsity Lakes.

It must be an election because of the money we have been calling for to fix the M1 shows up and our State Government is turning it down to try to help their federal mate Bill Shorten who has no intention of giving us any of it let alone the money Bailey claims we should have so he does not have to spend any of that money he collects for fines.

This is not NSW, I have noted that down there they don’t whinge about how much money, they fix their road problems, they build new hospitals so they have enough rooms for the sick, they don’t wait until their schools are bursting at the seams before building new ones.

But here in Queensland our roads are congested, we’ve run out of hospital beds and our schools are a disgrace, with not enough and those we do have allow thuggery and criminal acts to be hidden from the eyes of rightfully concerned parents.

I suggest that the Transport Minister and his Premier stop politicking for their ALP and Green mates in Canberra, concentrate on the needs of Queenslanders and get on with the job they are elected and paid to do which is to make the lives of Queenslanders better, not worse, as has been the case over the past years.
