VALENTINE Holmes will learn tomorrow if he has a future in American football after the Queensland star took his most significant step yet in his quest to crack the NFL.

Three months after his shock NRL exit, Holmes faced one of the most nerve-racking moments of his sporting career yesterday when he underwent testing before the eyes of an army of NFL scouts.

Recruiting gurus from most of the NFL’s 32 teams arrived at the training base of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to watch Holmes and six other rookies take part in combine style testing.

One of seven athletes in the NFL’s International Pathway Program, Holmes had his measurements taken before performing a series of drills.
