LOVING VILLAGE ATMOSPHERE

LOUISA Vandenburg walks the same halls Commonwealth Games giants Cate Campbell and Cameron McEvoy did just 12 months ago.

She moved into the converted athletes village at Parklands – now called Smith Collective – almost two months ago with partner Bruce and dog Chloe.

But she says the famous location hasn’t left her starstruck.

“I do like the fact it’s being used for what it is now, but I must admit I’m not very sporty and I wasn’t very into the Commonwealth Games,” she said.

“A couple of the people I work with volunteered and they’re quite excited about living in the (former) athletes village. They think it’s pretty cool.”

More than 200 people have moved into Smith Collective apartments and townhouses, many of them young professionals and healthcare workers.
