NERANG CUP A FUN WAY TO KICK OFF

-

WITH the completion of the Gold Coast Academy of Sport’s rugby union program a couple of weeks ago, many of the players will begin their club competition this weekend.

Due to wet weather last weekend, some sports were forced to postpone some games. The Nerang Cup will be held this Saturday.

Having been held for six years now, the event is considered by parents, grandparents, family and players as a fun day to start off the competition season.

Last weekend saw the junior games from under-6 to under-11 postponed because of the weather.

The under-12 to under-16 competition was permitted to go ahead with 25 teams and more than 400 players attending.

The Gold Coast District Rugby Union Association was extremely happy with the turnout last week and look forward to an exciting and closely fought season.

In Saturday’s senior game, Nerang Bulls are up against Bond after the excitement of the Nerang Cup for the younger age groups in the morning.

The reserve grade game begins at 2.45pm with first grade at 4.10pm.

This is a great way for the younger athletes to see the pathway they can follow in their sporting journey.
