Slater vows to lift again
IT hasn’t clicked for Kelly Slater but the 11-time world surfing champion can see a way back to the peak after a testing season-opening heat on the Gold Coast.
The 47-year-old was undone by Brazilians Yago Dora and Italo Ferreira yesterday to be sent into a sudden-death second round battle.
But the American maintains another world title is “attainable” after an injuryshortened 2018 season.
“It (my form) hasn’t locked in yet,” Slater said. “When you feel like you’re in tune it just happens, you don’t have to work very hard and I was out there working hard.”
