‘BECOMING MUM’ GOES LIVE AND PERSONAL

- EMILY HALLORAN emily.halloran@news.com.au

A BURLEIGH woman is bringing her podcast to life with a panel of experts to answer questions for mumsto-be.

Recipe book writer Nicole Joy, 36, started her podcast – Becoming Mum – in January to share her journey with others after she spent five years trying to conceive naturally.

“It’s really a way for me to share my own experiences,” she said.

“I was really curious about lots of things and thought surely other mums want to know about these things too.

“It’s been going so well. I receive messages daily that say ‘thank you for starting this’.

“It’s an incredible resource for mums.”

Mrs Joy burst into tears in September last year when she found out she’d finally fallen pregnant through IVF.

Now at 30 weeks, she records a weekly podcast and has well-known local guests, like radio host Emily Jade O’Keeffe, who also had difficulties conceiving, on the show to share their story.

On Wednesday, April 24, she is bringing her podcast to life at Mo’s Desert Clubhouse in Burleigh Heads.

There will be a panel of eight, from new mums, birthing coaches and specialists, alongside her sharing their stories and talking about birthing options.

Becoming Mum has had about 7000 downloads, with 600 people listening on average to each episode.
