Watt fires final insult

GOLD Coast-based Senator Murray Watt has fired a parting shot at Steven Ciobo.

There’s no love lost between the retiring former Coalition frontbencher and Labor powerbroker, who said Mr Ciobo had been “more focused on getting himself ahead” than the Gold Coast.

“He opposed funding for light rail when Federal Labor committed to it and ultimately I don’t think he has a lot to show for 17 years in office,” Senator Watt said.

Mr Ciobo, who has previously dismissed the Senator as “vacuous”, was unavailable for comment last night.
