Locals pay $5.7m for Surfers stunner

A LOOMING auction was enough to spark local buyers into action and put up more than $5 million for a towering riverfront mansion in a prestige enclave of Surfers Paradise.

The four-storey Paradise Waters residence on Admiralty Dve was snapped up before it was to go to auction last Thursday.

The buyers forked $5.7 million to secure property.

While it had been on the market for almost a year with various agencies, Ray White Prestige agent Jackson Paradise handled the sale.

He conducted 52 inspections during the month he marketed the property and fielded three substantial offers ahead of the auction.

“The buyers are Gold Coast business people and they are thrilled at securing such a landmark property,” Mr Paradise said.

“They were particularly drawn to its contemporary design built over four-levels, providing incredibly spacious living.

“The home is beautifully positioned on the very still section of Nerang River, boasting a wide-water aspect and uninterrupted city skyline views.”

The statement residence has five bedrooms, seven bathrooms and a range of luxury features.

A theatre room, gym, steam room, wine cellar, marble bar as well as a plunge and lap pool are among its standout features. out the

From its soaring front entrance to its curved feature staircase, every inch of the house has a cutting-edge style.

Seller Kevin Chatfield told the Bulletin in February he loved living in the house with wife Vicki and had only decided to sell so they could move into an apartment that would support their travelling lifestyle.

“My wife and I are mad boaties and we had a couple of different boats moored on the river behind our home,” Mr Chatfield said.

“I worked from home a lot and my study looked straight across the pool and to the river.

“I loved that view. “We also really liked the (top level) bar area.

“It has amazing 360degree views of Surfers Paradise, which is fantastic both daytime and even more at night.

“(It’s a) great place for small or large groups for entertaining inside and out.”

Ray White Surfers Paradise chief executive Andrew Bell said the sale highlighted the resilience of prestige homes during a period when the market was steadying. WITH JESSICA BROWN & MIKAELA DAY

“This recent sale adds to a stable of high-end prestige sales that we have been able to secure for our sellers,” Mr Bell said

“We are confident that our tailored marketing is reaching the right type of buyers in this current market.

“What we do know is that when properties are correctly priced to the market, there is no shortage of buyers.”
