$1m of cannabis in van
A QUEENSLAND pensioner has been caught with cannabis worth $1.1 million in a van after he was stopped for a random breath test in New South Wales.
The 69-year-old’s flat-bed van was stopped about 2.30am yesterday in Broken Hill before police decided to have a look in a compartment on the tray.
There they discovered $20,000 in cash and 57 kilograms of cannabis valued at $1.1 million.
The man, who was driving on a Northern Territory licence, was refused bail when he appeared at Broken Hill Local Court charged with supply of a prohibited drug and dealing in the proceeds of crime.
He is due to head back to the same court on June 11.
