Racist abuse targets Islam

-

A MAN who allegedly hurled anti-Islamic abuse at a picnicking family before driving his car in circles around them has appeared before a NSW court.

Twenty family members, from Sydney, had gathered on Sunday for a picnic but a man at the park began “screaming anti-Islamic sentiments” at them, detectives say.

The family tried to calm the man down but, when they backed away, the 43-year-old man got into his car.

He allegedly began driving in circles around the group and doing burnouts. The man was charged and refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court.
