Iran Guards are ‘terrorist’

IRAN’S Revolutionary Guard Corps has been declared a terrorist organisation by the US – the first time America has designated an entity of another government as a terror threat.

It places the Revolutionary Guard, which answers only to Iran’s supreme leader, in the same category as al-Qaeda and Islamic State.

“This step … recognises the reality that Iran is not only a state sponsor of terrorism, but that the IRGC actively participates in, finances and promotes terrorism as a tool of statecraft,” US President Donald Trump said.
