Why should anyone give any money to a protester who is involved in disrupting other people’s lives (Bulletin, 9/4). What about the workers in Melbourne who probably missed a day’s pay. I don’t like cruelty to animals but if someone wants to be a vegan so be it but don’t ram it into our lives. These activists do not have the right to trespass, steal and cause disruption, get a job do some volunteer work.

Trying to understand vegan protests. Are farmers expected to do more to stop their cattle from (ahem) farting? Or are they expected to altogether stop breeding/milking cows that feed the world? Then what? Just let cattle, sheep etc roam free to multiply? Vegans won’t have anything to eat in that case! Reckon their time better spent more constructively by planting lots of trees!
