GOVERNMENT HELP LACKING

-

AS the driving force behind the Pink Ribbon Race Day and now Catwalk to a Cure, Robyn Cameron knows how important it is to raise more money for research into breast cancer. In her opening speech she detailed some astonishing statistics. About eight women a day die from breast cancer and one in seven women will be diagnosed with the disease. The good news is that due to the ongoing research the survival rate in the past 20 years has risen from 70 per cent to 92 per cent. This last bit is a blight on governments because the NBCF gets not $1 of government funding which is why every dollar raised from its functions is so important. Fewer trips on overseas junkets to exotic locations and that money could be put to much better use. Hmmm?
