MAKING COSTUME A LABOUR OF LOVE

-

BRANDON Schouten spent more than 100 hours hand making a Game of Thrones costume just to show it off at Supanova.

The Sunshine Coast local, 26, started making his Night King costume on New Year’s Day, spending roughly seven hours a week.

But what may seem like a lot of time and effort, actually saved him hundreds of dollars to do it himself.

“It’s made from PVF form and faux leather. It cost me about $150 to make,” he said. “I started to make it on January 1 this year with plans to finish it by today (Saturday).

“This is my first time wearing it.

“It’s very hot.” Ruben Westerberg was out to scare, as American Horror Story’s Twisty the Clown.

He also hand made the costume, his from second-hand fabric.

“It took a couple of days,” he said.

“The most expensive thing was the mask. I had to buy that online.”
