DEAR oh dear, when will it ever end? Kingscliff greenies still boo hooing about the choice of land to build the urgently needed new hospital in the Tweed. These greenies should be rounded up and run out of town, and while they’re at it, run the GC greenies out of town as well. KenW

The Premier should be sorting out the hospital mess before worrying about the Olympic Games. Show that she is a real leader of Queensland instead of all talk and no doey. Nan.

Ah Informer, as usual you’re right on the ball re coffee snobdom. Gave up spending too many dollars on trying to replicate what I do best myself. One-cup plunger, three dollar packet of coffee, two shots of and shaken to froth soy milk only one needed for the day!

Have totally lost track of the increasing rules re “political correctness” these days, so am just asking. Is it OK to put a sign on my gate saying “No Jehovahs Witnesses, Mormons or any other money-grabbers welcome?” Because I’d really love to open my front door again to enjoy lovely breezes instead of keeping it firmly closed to avoid being constantly visited by these most determined people willing to hike up a very steep hill to prey on us old, single folk around here. Or should I just stop being polite and tell them firmly to F off?

To all of the voting public in the federal seat of Dickson, do us all a favour and sack Peter Dutton the most toxic politician in Australia

Yesterday, at a Brisbane hotel, 70 gay supporters rallied against the Sultan of Brunei’s new rockthrowing laws against gays, blasphemers and adulterers. So where’s all the support for us blasphemers and adulterers? That’s pretty much the rest of Aus. We’re being poorly under-represented here. Dave

So Dutton is saying it was not he who complained about Ali France using her disability but the people of his electorate. Passing the blame to his electorate is lower than the complaint itself. Does he really expect those voters to back him after being thrown under the bus?

You beauty, Falou sacked! Now our Wallaby defence will be strengthened with no more soft tries down Falou’s side.

Anxiously waiting for “Karma” to come to Southport Courts ... last week a person with 28 speeding fines, huge SPER debt and caught unlicensed driving three times in the last six months … if they looked deeper they

might have more to charge this person with but nonetheless it should be enough to say goodbye to this person for a few months.

Politics, religion. and vegans keep your views to yourself and don’t push them on anyone else.

Re Retiree’s comments – I totally agree with what you said. As a self-funded person myself I am not dependent on the government for a handout but have invested my money and relying on the tax credits to help me, as I started working as a 16-year-old and retired at 67 due to illness – sometimes working 80 hrs a week – to get there, so Mr Shorten should you get a Government pension for life and put nothing into it and stop thinking about the self-funded retirees who are not a burden to the Government. KB

This is Aussie sport, OUR sport! So keep your religion where it belongs, in church or whatever on Sunday.

Hopefully we will get a frost this year. The last one near the beach occurred in 1986. They kill mozzy larvae and sandfly eggs much better than any poison. Well said Laza. Bill Shorten & his BS won’t be happy until those who don’t work & sit around smoking, drinking & watching the world go by get the same income as those working 50, 60, 70 hours a week – the same group who make sacrifices and invest wisely – oh, and pay plenty in taxes to keep this wonderful country ticking along. Pedro

Fan F. 12/4). You are very misinformed. Yes, cows are lovely gentle creatures but they are not ‘terrorised by vegans’. I am not vegan. I care enormously for the humane treatment of animals and their future worldwide. My family owns a very large dairy milking property which allows me to see first hand. Cows are terrorised by artificial insemination every year to produce babies so they can continue to be milked. It is not a peaceful life for a beautiful sentient cow and vegans should be considered their saviour. LWN

Did you know that 50 per cent of the negative gearing benefits (over $5 billion) goes to the top 10 per cent of income earners. And the LNP say this is a fair distribution of your taxes.

I feel for the next generation brought up in this world gone mad. All we are doing is creating a generation of untra sensitive, entitled, precious, loony lefties, bound by political correctness who believe in a dozen different genders. Glad I was born in the 50s.

I’m a regular at Chevron Island Australia Post Office and would like to confirm that the shop is open from 6am seven days a week. Go and see the lovely ladies on the weekend for your postal needs.
