Close for Coomera

-

DESPITE being two goals down in the dying stages of their clash against Broadbeach, Coomera left their best until last with a series of rapid goals to snag a 3-3 draw.

“It was a very dramatic finish,” said Archy Kahondo, coach of the Brisbane Women’s Premier League side.

“The last five minutes were crazy because it was 3-1 to them and we had a quickfire two goals to get level.”

A contentious decision to rule a back pass in the final few minutes resulted in a Coomera indirect free kick in the box and the Colts converted.

Coomera netted again, only for it to be deemed off-side and disallowed.

“We were quite lucky draw,” Kahondo said.

“They overran us in the middle but we started winding it back in the last few minutes.

“We’ve played some very good opponents the past few weeks and we’re improving each week.”
