Huge ‘80s gig coming to Coast

-

GOLD Coasters will be transported back to the Eighties with tribute show Almost the Greatest Gig on Earth.

Music fans will be treated to the biggest hits from more than 20 artists including AC/ DC, Bon Jovi, Elton John, U2 and Queen.

The show to be held at Broadwater Parklands in Southport on August 10 will be a complete recreation of the ’80s celebrating youth, the energy, the musicianship and the showmanship of the music industry’s undisputed party decade.

The event is the brain child of Ian ‘Dicko’ Dickson who got together with some mates, some wine and a hotly contested Spotify list.

The group spent the night debating what would be the greatest ’80s gig ever and the beginnings of the festival was born.

“This event is my passion,” he said. “It’s the result of years of dreaming and planning and ultimately it’s about creating the best possible musical experience that I could ever want to attend as a music tragic.”

Tickets have gone on sale today at www.almostthegreatestgigonearth.com/.
