Injured PBC skipper to help out
PALM Beach Currumbin captain Stephen Thynne will use his injury-forced absence from the QAFL to help the club’s emerging talent.
Thynne is an assistant coach of Palm Beach Currumbin’s under-19 side and the 25year-old said he would invest more time it mentoring the young players under his watch after being sidelined with a hamstring injury.
Scans confirmed Thynne suffered a grade two tear in his right hamstring in the club’s Round 1 game against Broadbeach and is expected to miss between five and six weeks.
“Saturday night (after the injury) I was asking myself ‘why am I still playing’? But then I remember September last year when we won the premiership and that is why,” he said.
“It’s frustrating to sit and watch but I just love the sport.”
