EASTER DELIVERY

- TALISA ELEY

GOLD Coast Private Hospital is bursting at the seams with 10 special deliveries just in time for Easter. Maternity services manager Judy Ross said there had been “a real spike” in the number of babies born over the past two days. “Everyone is in a hurry,” she said.

FORGET chocolate eggs – Easter has delivered more precious gifts for a handful of Gold Coast parents, with an influx of newborn arrivals in the last few days.

Staff at Gold Coast Private Hospital said there had been a “real spike” in the number of babies born in the maternity ward during the past two days with 10 babies now in the ward.

“Everyone’s in a hurry, they must know something special is happening soon” Maternity Service manager Judy Ross told the Bulletin.

It will be close to a full house over Easter, with most new parents expected to stay across the long weekend.

The ward has become a second home to Sharni Bodna and Mitchell Fordham, from Benowa whose daughter Remi was born premature at 27 weeks.

The tiny tot has been gaining her strength at the hospital for the past nine weeks and is expected to stay longer as she continues to grow.

Meanwhile Jessica and Corey Vicary (pictured) from Willow Vale will celebrate their first Easter with four-day-old daughter Florence at home after being discharged yesterday.
