Driver speeding and over limit

POLICE have reminded motorists to slow down after a driver was fined for allegedly travelling almost 40km/h over the speed limit.

On April 11, Elanora Police Beat clocked a car at 99km/h in a 60km/h zone at Tallebudgera.

Police suspected the man was intoxicated and a breath test allegedly returned a reading of 0.138.

The man is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on May 3 and was fined $609 and six points.
