SEYMOUR TO GAIN SOLACE IN EXCITING NEW VENTURE
PROPERTY veteran Kevin Seymour is stepping into the Gold Coast luxury apartment market with a debut beachfront project in which prices will start north of $3 million.
His Seymour Group intends to have the nine-level Solace under way within two or three months on a $6 million site on the northern end of Broadbeach. Mr Seymour, a near $900 million rich-lister, yesterday said his group was looking for other quality boutique sites “but they must be oceanfront”.
The Solace move continues a Gold Coast affair for Mr Seymour, who has invested in Dreamworld owner Ardent Leisure and just spent $22 million on Yatala industrial land.
Solace will rise on a 531sq m site, occupied by a luxury house, at 2 First Ave. At the time of last year’s purchase of the property, he promised a “world class” project on the land.
Mr Seymour and his family have owned apartments in the nearby La Sabbia tower for many years.
The 79-year-old developer, who founded his Brisbanebased group four decades ago, yesterday said it was exciting
to make a debut foray into the Gold Coast market with a project of the calibre of Solace and in a “super” location.
“It is our intention for this development to not only honour its incredible northeast corner with ocean views that never can be built out, but cater to growing demand from downsizers for high-quality large luxury apartments in boutique buildings.”
Mr Seymour said quality was of paramount importance to him and the apartments in Solace, designed by Bureau Proberts, would have a genuine sense of sophistication.
He and wife Kay are retaining the top floor and keeping the floor below for daughter Leigh Seymour.
Prices for the six remaining 269sq m full-floor apartments will start at $3.35 million and there also will be a two-bedroom terrace apartment on the ground floor. Mr Seymour said each three-bedroom apartment would have secure lift access into a private lobby, multipurpose room, wine bar, a kitchen with butler’s pantry, and a master bedroom with walk-in wardrobe.
Solace is to be marketed by Jamie-Lee Edwards, director of JLE Projects.
