STILL POPULAR DESPITE COUNCIL BATTLES
THE famed Gold Coast Meter Maids keep getting booked out for events despite their boss claiming they are copping heat on the street from city council officials.
Meter Maids Estaphania Marquez, 28, and Jackie de Souza, 26, – dressed in their infamous flashy gold bikinis – put on a show for the local firefighters at the Corvette Nationals car show at Broadwater Parklands on Saturday.
Ms Marquez said they were there just to show the community a bit of love: “The chief fire officer approached us and asked to get a photo with the hose and the fire brigade.
“We were just there chatting to people, letting them know a little about us, and getting to know the Corvette lovers.”
The owner of Gold Coast Meter Maids Roberta Aitchison has long claimed council have been harassing them, stopping the girls from feeding parking metres, posing for photos and sell merchandising in areas of Surfers Paradise. The council has denied that is the case.
