Lennox Head drowning

AN angler has died after he was washed off rocks while fishing at Lennox Head.

The man was fishing from rocks at Boulder Beach yesterday around midday, with police believing he was washed into the ocean.

Surfers went to help the man and support him in the water on a surfboard.

He was returned to land unconscious.

Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

A report will be prepared by police for the coroner. Police are continuing to investigate.
