‘HEY GIRLS, YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE SO FAKE’

- CHANTAY LOGAN

NICE, normal guy goes on reality TV looking for a nice, natural girl. What could possibly go wrong?

We’ll find out when Palm Beach’s Wesley Ford enters Bachelor in Paradise tonight.

The FIFO worker and occasional model and actor said he was “going in with an open heart” but tended to be blind to signals from the opposite sex.

“I can be oblivious when somebody likes me and I’m a little bit shy in the approaching girls department,” he said.

“I’ve tried online dating a couple of times but I like to meet someone naturally. I connect better when it’s more of a natural introduction.

“I just like the naturallooking girl, a free spirit, easygoing, no stress.

“I don’t know what’s going on here at the moment, but on the Gold Coast (some) girls don’t seem to know how naturally beautiful they are.

“It seems like this thing where they’re trying to keep up with all the influencers. It’s a bit sad.”

Don’t expect Ford, who debuted on Ali’s season of The Bachelorette, to partake in Paradise’s partner swapping antics either.

“I think the show doesn’t encourage my beliefs and morals. I didn’t go on the show for that side of things – one girl dating 15 guys,” he said.

“I went on to put myself out there and see if something does come along.

“It’s a little bit of spark in my mining life.”

And if the Paradise plan doesn’t work out, local ladies apply here … just be nice about it.

“A lot of people say I’m hard to approach, but I’m just there smiling and being silly,” he said.

“Of course I love it if girls (approach me), as long as they’re kind.”
