Broken leg after spat

AN elderly woman suffered a serious leg injury after an alleged neighbourh­ood dispute turned ugly.

It’s understood a long-running spat between two elderly women ended yesterday when a 66-year-old was rammed by a car inside the car park of a unit complex on Liam Court, Labrador.

It will be alleged a 65-yearold woman, driving a Toyota Corolla, hit her elderly neighbour about 10.15am, seriously injuring her leg.

Police are investigat­ing whether the incident was intentiona­l, with the driver taken into custody and questioned at Southport Police Station.

The car was also towed by police and will undergo a mechanical inspection, as part of their investigat­ion.

It’s understood the two women live in the same complex and are known to each other.

Three ambulance crews rushed to the scene. The 66year-old woman was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition, believed to be suffering a compound fracture to her lower leg.
