PUBLIC TO HAVE SAY ON NAME

- KIRSTIN PAYNE kirstin.payne@news.com.au

GOLD Coasters will be given a chance to name the region’s newest high school.

The first sod was turned at the Coomera site on Foxwell Rd yesterday.

Foundation principal Kym Amor said she was eager to get locals’ thoughts on the school.

“There isn’t a name at the moment, so it is a completely blank slate,” Ms Amor said.

“We will be opening the community consultation within the next couple of weeks and will really be listening to what the community wants as the name,” she said.

Until then the $64 million school’s working name will be New Secondary College Coomera.

“But who knows who we will be, we want it to be a creation of the community,” Ms Amor said.
