Shaw kicks well clear

-

SOUTHPORT wingman Matt Shaw has set the tone for a season that could deliver him the NEAFL MVP title.

Shaw already boasts an 11point lead after just three rounds of the 2019 season.

The Sharks midfielder secured a maximum 10 votes in the club’s win over Canberra after collecting 30 disposals, nine marks and a goal.

The NEAFL Most Valuable Player Award is presented to the player uniquely judged the best in the competition by a combination of umpire and coaches’ votes.

The votes are on a 5-4-3-2-1 basis. The maximum a player can earn in a match is 10 – five votes from both the umpires and coaches.
