Scott’s not giving up on Origin

-

COWBOYS veteran Matt Scott says he would welcome a State of Origin recall as he prepares for tonight’s clash against Canterbury.

It comes as Maroons coach Kevin Walters laid the challenge for Scott to play his way into an Origin jersey as state selectors continue their search for this year’s squad.

Queensland will be without the experience of retired stars Greg Inglis and Billy Slater, and Scott would be a welcome addition into the camp.

Scott, 33, has played 22 Origins, on top of his 257 NRL games, despite being hampered by injuries.

The stalwart forward said he would welcome the chance to play in the Origin arena again, provided he continued to deliver for the Cowboys.

“I’d be lying if I said I didn’t want to be there,” he said.

“I’ve been away for a few years and a disrupted last couple of seasons but I feel like I’m starting to find my feet.”
