JW re Labor and unions. Yes I can thank them for destroying our car building plants, penalty rates, long service leave, superannuation etc. Don’t you realise all of this is putting people out of work? Ask the unemployed car industry people. All the small businesses that have closed due to outrageous overhead costs due to unions and Labor. I’ve been in business for 25 years now I’ll be happy to close it down and retire selffunded. Ungrateful? You bet. John Z

Unnamed writer complaining about the LNP preference deal with the UAP. Would you be so vitriolic in your criticism of Shorten had Labor’s plea for Palmer’s support been successful? I didn’t think so.

Oh please. Channel 7. Promise to make this the final season of Its been done to death! Sinbad.

Why vote when preferential votes will determine the outcome anyway. And besides, there’s no one worth voting for. Old chook

Morrison says Labor and Greens are worse than Palmer and “That is a simple fact”. It was reported Palmer’s objectives will cost $1 trillion debt in first 10 years. Morrison calls this good for you and economy, he was bad enough as treasurer and worse as PM.

Mr Ciobo I’ll miss putting s**t on you as a politician in the Chat Room now that you’ve resigned but don’t worry about it we are about to vote out your mates and sack them so you’ll have someone to play golf with …

The Morrison childcare reforms that he said cut costs by 8% is a lie. LNP have been in since 2013, the cost has risen by 25% after taking into account the reforms, they have also gone up more than inflation rate since reforms. This is something Frydenberg as treasurer should have told his PM as being wrong information. Or is Frydenberg in Barnaby’s, IT IS NOT MY JOB club?

I know who has won our votes, Morrison is capping the drain of refugees on our country, Shorten is to quadruple it! At least with Morrison our needy, aged, hospitals, schools & infrastructure will get our taxpayers money.

The government said that all money from speeding fines is channelled back into road safety. Does this mean more speed cameras?

VFL/AFL used to be a great game of long kicking, great marking & ball skills. It’s now a hybrid of basketball & soccer

where players go backwards, sideways, 10 times in 15 mtrs, give up possession & when they eventually get the ball up forward they can’t kick! Don’t get me started on the most over umpired game on the planet! CRAP FOOTY

GT. you have it right on, with Chris Bowen describing retirees claiming franking credit tax refunds ‘as the cane toads’ of Australia. How insulting. I

would say retireeing politicians as ‘the parasites’ of Australia, who think nothing of giving themselves a payrise along the way. Just a thought.

With the going down of the sun, the Suns went down and no-one will remember them!

I suggest you do some research on the history of our new Police Commissioner. Her qualifications as a former Assistant Commissioner of police before being appointed to the Fire Service make her more than adequately qualified to hold the post.

Can l suggest to our Anzac bros across the ditch that if you’re expecting huge things from your rugby team at the World Cup, you might want to lower the bar. The Super 15 is only a guide and unlike last year the Aussie teams are starting to bear fruit as they normally do in a World Cup year … noel

I agree with you Ken, my late father was one of the 39th Kokada Track heroes, all the horrors of months of day and night fighting the fanatic Japanese with terrible odds of 50 to 1 and more, yet these soldiers were so tough, that when the war finished in 1945, dad went back to work as a carpenter but died from a lung disease 3 decades later from asbestos in the building material after surviving the war of all wars and these tough men never came home claiming stress. It’s a shame dad survived that war in PNG only to die an early death in civie street. You will never be forgotten dad, rest in peace. Kate.

Is the GCCC the promoters of the Queen concert? If not, why are ratepayers forking out 250,000? Is that to give away free tickets to get a crowd there? What a load of codswallop. Barney

Will we have enough electricity to power our TVs during Bathurst 500 if electric cars racing will require a recharge every 50 kilometres? Conundrum.
