FISHING

FRESHWATER: Plenty of bass being caught in Hinze Dam, especially around the timbered eastern areas.

JUMPINPIN: Tailor along the Jumpinpin Bar and through to Tipplers Channel, with flathead on the high tides around Tipplers Channel and Cabbage Tree point.

BROADWATER: Mangrove jack in the Seaway, as well as Nerang and Coomera rivers. Flathead around Wavebreak Island and Crab Island along the sand banks, with bream in similar areas and along the jetties from Southport to Paradise Point. Sand crabs around Sovereign Island and mud crabs in Coombabah Creek, Coomera and Pimpama rivers.

OFFSHORE: Mackerel still being caught on Diamond Reef, with Spaniards and jewfish also around the bait reefs. The odd blue marlin hanging around but have gone quiet over the last week. Squire and snapper expected on the close reefs as temperatures cool.
