Skipper to the rescue

-

AN injury-time header from captain Michael Thwaite sealed a crucial 3-2 win for Gold Coast United in yesterday’s Round 13 NPL battle away to Sunshine Coast.

Seemingly cruising to their seventh win thanks to a Brandon Reeves double, United gave up their 2-0 lead before Thwaite saved their blushes.

At the Croatian Sports Centre on Saturday night, the Gold Coast Knights accounted for Brisbane Roar Youth 3-0 thanks to goals from Max Brown (two) and Jarrod Kyle.

United’s women thrashed Western Pride 7-1 at home in the NPLW on Saturday.
