Walters wants Kodi to stay
Former Broncos premiership winner Kevin Walters said while both youngsters had potential, he urged coach Anthony Seibold not to let Nikorima walk out of Red Hill.
“I’d be disappointed if the Broncos let Kodi Nikorima go,” he told Big Sports Breakast.
“I think deep down (Kodi) would dearly love to stay at the Broncos. They’ve got some young halfbacks in the waiting but none of them are at the level now where Kodi Nikorima is.”
With Nikorima struggling to fire alongside Anthony Milford in Brisbane’s 2-5 start to the season, former Queensland Origin star Billy Moore said the club should target offcontract Parramatta halfback Mitchell Moses.
“If I could get Moses I’d go hammer and tong; a swipe of the pen and you’re sorted,” Moore said.
“If anyone thinks that combination (of Nikorima and Milford) is getting better, they’re wrong.”
