No verdict on De Belin

-

JACK de Belin will have to wait at least another week to resume his rugby league career as more court documents emerged that highlighted the RLPA’s frustration with the NRL’s no-fault stand-down policy.

De Belin’s hopes of returning for St George Illawarra against Parramatta have been all but quashed after judge Federal Court judge Melissa Perry did not reach a verdict.

The back-rower needed to know his fate before teams were announced yesterday afternoon to be eligible to play.

While Judge Perry is expected to hand down her verdict this week, there is no clear timetable for a decision.

If de Belin is cleared, he could return for the Dragons against the Warriors next week. The Dragons could apply for a special exemption to play de Belin this week but would need the NRL’s approval.
