FILM STAR TO RESCUE IN WAKE OF LOCKDOWN

- EMILY HALLORAN

HOLLYWOOD film star Chris Hemsworth turned up at Byron Bay Public School on Tuesday to work in the canteen after a teacher was attacked, forcing the school into lockdown.

His wife Elsa Pataky posted a video on Instagram of the Avengers: Endgame star entering the school carrying two containers of sushi.

The Byron Bay locals helped the other mums working in the canteen individually wrap the sushi in paper before it was given to pupils.

Ms Pataky captioned one of the videos with: “Always helpful to have a super hero in the kitchen!!”

The school went into lockdown shortly after 7am on Tuesday following reports a teacher had been stabbed.

Police allege a 31-year-old woman stabbed Year 4 teacher Zane Vockler with scissors. The teacher suffered cuts to his face and arm.

The woman was charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and entering enclosed lands without a lawful excuse.

She was refused bail and appeared in Tweed Heads Local Court yesterday.

Mr Vockler, 28, was taken to Tweed Hospital to undergo surgery and was in a stable condition..
