Coast ‘Spider-Man’ gets probation for drug sale
THE man formerly dubbed the Gold Coast “Spider-Man” was caught dealing Xanax when police were investigating the death of his best friend.
Scott Duncan Davis-Ingram sold the prescription drug to a man who then sold it to Davis-Ingram’s best mate, Sam Leschke, Southport Magistrates court heard yesterday.
Mr Leschke, 21, died of a brain injury on March 17 last year after he was discovered in his Mudgeeraba backyard.
While investigating Mr Leschke’s death, police seized a phone containing text messages revealing Davis-Ingram was organising to sell drugs to Jayden Ashley Goodall.
CCTV captured the drug sale in a Mudgeeraba service station carpark in the early hours of March 17 last year.
Davis-Ingram, 26, pleaded guilty to supplying dangerous drugs. The 26-year-old previously made headlines for scaling buildings to take dangerous selfies, earning the “Spider-Man” nickname.
Defence lawyer Campbell MacCallum said Davis-Ingram was prescribed Alprazolam, also known as Xanax, a type of anxiety medication.
Mr MacCallum said the drug was found to have no link to Mr Leschke’s death.
He said Davis-Ingram “gave in” to the buyer, who had pestered him for the drug through repeated phone calls.
Davis-Ingram was sentenced to two years of probation and required to undergo therapeutic intervention to address substance abuse.
