a grandparent I am horrified that the Greens condone and encourage school children to leave their schools, miss learning opportunities and show them how to illegally extend a long weekend, a long weekend created by the ALP for legitimate workers.

There is no doubt this protest is not about climate change, it is a political demonstration encouraged by university students who are members of the Greens or ALP, who have the intention to brainwash vulnerable children who cannot vote, are unable to enlist to defend this country, are seen by every court in the world as under the age of understanding.

The truth that it is a political demonstration is shown by its timing and location and that the people who will attend shall be members of the Greens and ALP.

As we continually see our youth is easily led by peer pressure and the need to be seen as a part of the ‘in crowd’. That these poor kids will lose information from their education for the loss of that day is a certainty and I encourage any teacher or lecturer not to hold up the education of other dedicated students by reviewing work they missed that day to follow political parties and gain an extra day off.

To parents who condone this action and allow children to miss school I have no doubt you need to revalue your priorities. Are your children more important than your beliefs or are you willing to put your children in the firing line of adult actions and counter actions as was seen in Clermont recently.

Surely as a parent you must be aware that there will not be any sympathy towards you as a parent should your child be injured in a protest scuffle or arrested for being a public nuisance. I’m sorry but as a parent and grandparent I personally would question the authorities on your right to have any control or contact with that child for its safety over your beliefs.

I challenge any parent of any under aged child who allows their child to participate to give their name up to the public so they can be judged by the public and child safety authorities.
