Qantas stalwart appointed CFO

-

QANTAS chief financial officer Tino La Spina will take charge of the airline’s international business at the end of this financial year and hand over his current role to chief customer officer Vanessa Hudson.

The carrier says Ms Hudson, who has been with Qantas for 24 years, will work alongside Mr La Spina from mid-May before taking on the CFO role on October 1.

Narendra Kumar will remain acting Qantas International chief executive during the transition.

The airline will soon start looking for a new chief customer officer.

“There is a lot of positive momentum across the Qantas Group,” Qantas Group CEO Alan Joyce said in a statement yesterday.

“We have a great executive team in place and I look forward to working with them over the years ahead as we deliver for our customers and shareholders.”

Mr La Spina has been with Qantas for 13 years in a series of senior finance roles.

Ms Hudson started in finance and audit, before moving to senior roles in in-flight services, commercial planning, sales and distribution, and as regional head of Qantas in the United States.
