Jamie starts to see light

IT has been a tough year for Supercars star Jamie Whincup.

The seven-time drivers’ champion heads into this weekend’s Perth SuperNight event without a win and sitting a ninth on the title standings.

Whincup isn’t letting his struggles get the better of him, however, insisting he’s relishing the battle to get back among the championship’s frontrunners. “I’m mentally good,’’ he said. “I’m not down in the dumps or anything. I’m actually really motivated about the challenge.”
