LIVE, LOUD, BUSY

-

ONCE again the Surfers Paradise Live free music festival has proved a winner on the Glitter Strip.

Indicative figures last night from organiser Surfers Paradise Alliance were that it dragged 128,000 people into the precinct across the many stages of live acts throughout Friday, Saturday and yesterday.

The event was a winner with businesses in the hub, with last year a particular standout due to headliner Jimmy Barnes.

This year’s line-up was also impressive, a credit to the investment pumped into it by the alliance.

Bar operators have previously told the Bulletin the more events like it in the tourism hub, the better as far as their trade goes. They reap the rewards afterwards.

With the dissolution of the various entertainment precinct marketing bodies into one bigger entity looming, those involved with the new structure would do well to retain some of the events already well established and kicking goals for those hubs.
