Sydney set to never close
THE City of Sydney will consider introducing new 24-hour trading across the entire city centre, which could encroach on the State Government’s controversial lockout laws.
Sydney Lord Mayor Clover Moore said the city was responding to feedback calling for a better night-time economy.
“More than 10,000 people told us they want Sydney to have a diverse and exciting night-time economy,” Ms Moore said yesterday. “What they don’t want is a city that is unsafe or that shuts down as soon as the sun goes down.”
Some of the proposed changes are subject to the state’s lockout laws.
