Playing the name game

-

WHILE the birth of a baby boy in the Sussex household has filled fans with joy, they now wait with bated breath for the young royal’s name.

Here are some of the top names with perfect credentials for first and middle names:

FREDERICK: It’s regal, but with a spunky nickname “Freddie”.

THEODORE: A subtle tribute to the sound in Meghan’s mother’s name, Doria, and also the name of the 26th US president ‘Teddy’ Roosevelt.

LEOPOLD: Leo for short. Peter and Zara Philips have deviated from royal names with their children’s names (Savannah and Isla, and Mia and Lena).

WINSTON: The couple may go down a more political route with a nod to Churchill.

PHILIP: Possible middle name after the baby’s great-grandfather.

ALVIN: The name of Meghan’s adored maternal grandfather Alvin Ragland.

CHARLES: A nod to the future King, the bub’s grandfather.

ARTHUR: Betting has shortened on this classic regal name, which is also a middle name of Prince William.
