PETROL AT JUST 99 CENTS!

- TALISA ELEY tali.eley@news.com.au

GOLD Coast drivers can fill their tanks on the cheap today with the price of petrol slashed to 99 cents at a Southport petrol station – but you’ll have to be quick.

Independent servo Freedom St Clair’s on Nerang St will drop the price of E10 between 10am and 11am today as part of a special promotion with Little Hands Early Learning Centre.

Drivers could save about 34 cents per litre during the hour-long sale as the price of E10 currently on the Coast is around $1.33 a litre.

Today’s offer has a 50 litres per person limit.

Little Hands centre director Jordan Tohovaka said they had chosen to be involved because it was a chance to support another small local business as well as helping the community.

“It‘s no secret that the cost of living is through the roof on the Coast – and everywhere – and this was something really practical we could do to help because everyone needs fuel,” she said.

Southport mum Brooke Leech and son Lleyton, 12 months, plan to be among the first to fill up today.

“With a little one we do a lot of running around and go through plenty of fuel,” Ms Leech said. “Any chance to save money is a help.”

Maree Marsh from Freedom St Clair’s said it would be all hands on deck with big crowds expected.

She urged drivers to get in early and to be patient as the low price is sure to create a lot of interest from motorists.
