$20m pot crop found
MORE than eight thousand cannabis plants have been destroyed by police after they executed a search warrant for a property near Mackay.
Police entered the Calen property yesterday, where they located cannabis plants, valued at more than $20,222,500.
A 71-year-old and a 37-yearold man were allegedly growing crops of cannabis in four large areas in the mountains of Calen. The pair will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court today.
The land owner was not aware his land was being used to grow the crop.
